I should be stressing about making banners...

It all started when I took the truck in yesterday to get new tires. $900 later they told me I also needed new brakes. Emily couldn't last any longer, so I put that on my list for today.

We woke up today, so Mommy could go to the gym only to find out that the passenger side window broke during the night. (Scratch the gym) The only car repair place in our town said they couldn't get to it until next Tuesday. (Great) I decided to drive it to Wilmington (45 min away) because I had to pick up our computer, but I first had to wait for the pest guy to come spray for ants. While spraying, he pulled me out into the garage to tell me we had termites. (Seriously? Could this day get any worse?) Finally get to the brake place. 2 hours and 1 fussy baby later, the truck is finished. No place could fix our window today, though, so I had to drive another 45 minutes back home, going 65 mph, with the passenger side window gone. I had tried a tarp earlier, but you can't go over 50 and not go deaf with a tarp.

Tires.

Brakes.

Window.

Termites.

Most other wives are making welcome home signs right now. I am blowing through $2000 of our savings.

The next deployment better not be like this...

Nap time

Is this really comfortable? She sure loves her teddy bear, though.

My brain isn't working

I was doing so well last year, and then January 1st hit and I have been a horrible blogger. I have many things I could blame, but there are really no excuses for the past couple of months. I would say that I promise to get better starting now, but my brain decided to shut off tonight when I received an official email telling me the time Daniel would be reuniting with his daughter. Yeah, yeah, he gets to see his wife, too, but once you have kids, that is all that seems to matter. Maybe it is the fact that he left an infant behind and is coming home to a little girl?

So now my brain is mush, and it will continue to stay that way until this deployment is behind us and we are counting down until the next. Oh, the vicious cycle! I am telling yall up front... don't expect any posts for, say, around 10 days. I'm not saying anything is happening then, but I have a funny inkling that I will have A LOT to post about.

In the meantime, check out our dropshots page because I just uploaded a ton of new pictures.

Fashion Show

It has reached the 80 degree mark for the first time this year, and we are getting ready to go to the beach for a walk. The warm weather has reminded me of all Emily's summer clothes that are pushed to the back of the drawers/closet. I have been picking things up here and there whenever I see something on sale. I decided it was finally time to pull everything out and see how it looks on her. I can't get over these pictures. She definitely isn't an infant anymore!

The home stretch

Sorry I have been awful about posting lately. We are in the home stretch until Daniel comes home, so I have been going crazy trying to get this place together. My mom is coming in town tomorrow to help me finish decorating. I know we have been here a year, but things got a little crazy once we moved in. At least I can finally mark it off of my list that has been running for over a year now.

Today we were playing in the living room and Emily looked at me, grabbed some of her hair, yanked it really hard, and started crying. Seriously?

Did I mention we are in the home stretch?????????????
