Has it really been 2 weeks?

I can't believe it has already been two weeks since Daniel got home. The time has flown by! Unfortunately, I have nothing to show for it. I have been living in some kind of haze. I really need to get better about posting on here, but what do I say? I feel like we haven't done that much. We are in that time period where Daniel is getting adjusted to this new life, and it really is new to him. When he left, we were on no kind of schedule, we could get out of the house whenever we wanted, and we definitely weren't chasing after Emily.

They say if you do something for 21 days it becomes a habit, so today starts 21 straight days of blog posts. I am hoping after that, the habit will stick. Plus, baseball season started and I need something new to preoccupy my time, since I lost my husband to the Astros.

Emily has changed so much and I haven't even been posting about it. She has 4 huge teeth now, and at least 2 more have broken the skin. She is pulling up on EVERYTHING, moving back and forth between close furniture, and has started taking some steps while holding onto things. She is talking up a storm -- everything is "dada" right now. And, she loves to dance to music. I guess I have some stuff to post about after all...

I should be stressing about making banners...

It all started when I took the truck in yesterday to get new tires. $900 later they told me I also needed new brakes. Emily couldn't last any longer, so I put that on my list for today.

We woke up today, so Mommy could go to the gym only to find out that the passenger side window broke during the night. (Scratch the gym) The only car repair place in our town said they couldn't get to it until next Tuesday. (Great) I decided to drive it to Wilmington (45 min away) because I had to pick up our computer, but I first had to wait for the pest guy to come spray for ants. While spraying, he pulled me out into the garage to tell me we had termites. (Seriously? Could this day get any worse?) Finally get to the brake place. 2 hours and 1 fussy baby later, the truck is finished. No place could fix our window today, though, so I had to drive another 45 minutes back home, going 65 mph, with the passenger side window gone. I had tried a tarp earlier, but you can't go over 50 and not go deaf with a tarp.

Tires.

Brakes.

Window.

Termites.

Most other wives are making welcome home signs right now. I am blowing through $2000 of our savings.

The next deployment better not be like this...

Nap time

Is this really comfortable? She sure loves her teddy bear, though.
